Duct Sealing

In a typical home with ducts, a big share of the air your system heats or cools leaks out before it ever reaches a room, often into the attic or crawlspace you're not trying to condition.

Sealed ducts mean the system runs less, rooms get even airflow, and less dust gets pulled in from attics and basements. It's one of the most cost-effective fixes for forced-air and central AC systems.

Signs your home needs it

  • Some rooms get weak airflow from the vents
  • The system runs long but the house doesn't keep up
  • Excess dust shortly after cleaning
  • Ducts running through the attic, garage or crawlspace

What we do

  • Inspect accessible ductwork joint by joint
  • Seal connections with mastic and approved materials
  • Insulate ducts in unconditioned spaces where recommended
  • Verify airflow improvement at the registers

What the Mass Save program covers

Duct sealing and duct insulation recommended in your assessment qualify for Mass Save incentives; many measures are heavily discounted or covered.

Rebates and incentives are provided through the Mass Save program and subject to eligibility and program terms.

Common questions

How do I know if my ducts leak?
Uneven rooms, weak vents and dusty air are the classic signs. The definitive answer comes from the inspection during your no-cost assessment.
Is tape enough?
Ordinary duct tape fails quickly. We use mastic and program-approved sealants designed to last for decades.
Does this help with cooling too?
Yes, the same leaks waste cold air in summer. Sealing helps year-round.
